Introduction

The word motive denotes an inner force which impels, incites, or causes oneís will to act or move in a particular way, or go in a certain direction.

Abel was motivated to serve God. He brought the firstlings of his flock and the fat from it to offer to the Lord. The Lord respected it. But Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to the Lord, but the Lord did not respect it, and through envy and jealousy Cain slew his brother Abel and was punished by God - Genesis 4:1-15

Will you permit the Holy Spirit, by the Word, to convict your mind of sin, righteousness, and judgment to come? Will you be compelled to serve God? Why not serve the Lord like Joshua and his house? - Joshua 24:15

TO BE MOTIVATED TO SERVE GOD SOME WILL NEED ENCOURAGEMENT

The term encourage, means to inspire with confidence, to urge forward one to start or continue in action.

In Exodus chapters 3 and 4, we learn God talked to Moses from the midst of the burning bush concerning the Israelite bondage in Egypt, and how He wanted Moses to deliver Israel from bondage through Godís mighty hands. But Moses needed a series of encouragements from God for the task at hand - Exodus 3:9-12; Exodus 4:10-12, 13-17.

We as Christians must be encouraged and motivated to be faithful and serve God to the end, since there will be final judgment to come and some will be resurrected to life and others resurrected to death - Revelation 2:10

TO BE MOTIVATED TO SERVE GOD OTHERS WILL NEED TO BE REBUKED

Did you know, some people, will not be motivated to serve God because no one has rebuked them for the sin in their life? One of the primary purposes of scripture is to reprove and correct sin so that we may be complete - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

How many souls will die in sin because no one pleaded with them to turn from unrighteousness and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ? Let us therefore be encouraged to reprove sin that some might be motivated and compelled to obey and serve God - Ephesians 5:11; 2 Timothy 4:2

God pleads with all to turn away from sin and serve Jesus, who bore it all that you might live. Why not be motivated to obey God today?

Are you Saved? Accept the Salvation that God offers:  Hear - Believe - Repent - Confess - Be Baptized.
