"Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith."
Contentment is the state of being satisfied with one’s possessions, circumstances, or situation in life, without the desire of wanting or needing more.
Ancient Greek Philosopher, Socrates said “Contentment is natural wealth,
luxury is artificial poverty.”
We live in a social-economic society where we can easily be unsatisfied with what we do not have in comparison to others, while we neglect to be thankful for what God has blessed us with – I Thessalonians 5:18.
The Bible is clear, you must be content with the things you have, being
confident that God will supply you with what you need –
Simply because, they want, more things, they have an excessive desire to have things which is coveting. The world teaches more is better, but Jesus teaches us not to fall prey to covetousness – Luke 12:15.
In conclusion, let us be encouraged to be content with the things we have. The Lord blessed us with His Son Jesus Christ whom sacrificed His life on the cross but God raised Him from the dead that you and I might have life through him. Why not come and be content in Him, since He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness – II Peter 1:3.
